2000 No 615

Water Legislation Amendment Act 1997 New South Wales

No 128—Proclamation

GORDON SAMUELS, Governor I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, CVO, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Water Legislation Amendment Act 1997, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 1 November 2000 as the day on which Schedule 2.5 to that Act commences.

Signed and sealed at Sydney, this 18th day of October 2000.

By His Excellency’s Command,

RICHARD AMERY, M.P.,

Minister for Land and Water Conservation

GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!

Explanatory note
The object of this proclamation is to commence the sole uncommenced provision of the Water
Legislation Amendment Act 1997.
The provision concerned repeals the authorisation of Sydney Water Corporation under section 12 (3)
of the Sydney Water Act 1994 to exercise certain rights of the Water Administration Ministerial
Corporation with respect to the use and flow, and the control, of water. That authorisation is expressed
to have effect only until such time as Sydney Water Corporation is granted a licence or permit by the
relevant authority for the purposes referred to in section 12 (3) and the Minister, by certificate
published in the Gazette, certifies that such a licence or permit has been granted. Such a licence has
been granted to the Corporation under Part 9 of the Water Act 1912.

This proclamation is made under section 2 of the Water Legislation Amendment Act 1997.
