Water Industry (Melbourne Parks and Waterways)
(Amendment) Regulations 1998
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1. Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Water Industry (Melbourne Parks and Waterways) Regulations 1996 to—
(a)
provide that certain approved employees of Parks Victoria are authorised officers; and
(b)
exempt certain persons from the operation of those Regulations.
2. Authorising provisions
These Regulations are made under sections 149 and 184 of the Water Industry Act 1994.
3. Commencement
These Regulations come into operation on 3 July
1998.
4. Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Water Industry
(Melbourne Parks and Waterways) Regulations19961 are called the Principal Regulations.
5. Amendment of definitions
In regulation 104 of the Principal Regulations—
(a)
in the definition of "authorised officer", for "an officer of MPW" substitute "an employee of Parks Victoria";
(b)
after the definition of "MPW" insert— ' "Parks Victoria" means the body
established under Part 2 of the Parks
Victoria Act 1998;'.
6. Addition to exempt persons
In regulation 106 of the Principal Regulations—
(a)
after paragraph (b) insert— "(ba) an employee of Parks Victoria;";
(b)
in paragraph (c), after "MPW" insert— "or Parks Victoria".
