AN ACT to amend the Water Boards Act, 1904-1978.

[Assented to 25th October, 1979.]

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Water Boards Act Amendment Act, 1979.	Short title
and citation.

In this Act the Water Boards Act, 1904-1978, is referred to as the principal Act.	Reprinted as approved for reprint lath

ment. 2. This Act shall be deemed to have come into

operation on the 1st July, 1979.

Section 92

amended. 3. Section 92 of the principal Act is amended

(a)	by inserting after the section designation "92." the subsection designation "(1)"; and
(b)	by adding a new subsection, as follows

(2) The water rate payable in respect of rateable land for each rating year shall be assessed on the basis of

(a)

the basic water rate applicable

to that land; and

(b)

where the land is actually supplied with water by the Board, a charge calculated by reference to the quantity, other than the prescribed quantity which the owner or occupier is entitled to receive by way of allowance (if any) in respect of the basic water rate, of water supplied or agreed to be supplied by measure during the consumption year. .

Minn& 4. (1) The principal Act is amended by inserting,

the words "basic water".

(2) The principal Act is amended by inserting, before the word "rates" where it appears in

(a) line three of section 103;

(b)	line three of section 104;
(c)	line two of subsection (1) of section 106;
(d)	line two of subsection (2) of section 106;

(e) line twenty-four of section 107; ana

(f) line one of section 108,

the words "basic water".

(3) Section 93 of the principal Act is amended by inserting before the word "water", in line one. the word "basic".

(4) Section 97 of the principal Act is amended by deleting the word "Water", in line one, and substituting the words "Basic water".
