170 Water Act Amendment Act 1987, No. 18 BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in, Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. Short title and citation . (1) This Act may be cited as the Water Act Amendment Act 1987. (2) In this Act, the Water Act 1926-1986 is referred to as the Principal Act. (3) The Principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Water Act 1926-1987. 2. Amendment of s. 55. Artesian and sub - artesian wells to be licensed . Section 55 of the Principal Act is amended, in subsection (2), by omitting all words from and including "be liable" to and including "not exceeding $50" and substituting the words "be liable to a penalty not exceeding 40 penalty units". 3. Amendment of s. 58. Penalty for alterations of licensed work or contravention of license . Section 58 of the Principal Act is amended, in subsection (2), by omitting all words from and including "be liable" to and including "not exceeding $20" and substituting the words "be liable to a penalty not exceeding 40 penalty units".
