WASTE MINIMISATION AND MANAGEMENT ACT 1995 —

ORDER

I, the Honourable Gordon Samuels AC, Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 10 of the Waste Minimisation and Management Act 1995, make the Order set out hereunder.

Name of Order

1. This Order is the Waste Minimisation and Management (Waste

Management Regions) Order 1996.
Declaration of waste management regions

2. (1) The local government areas of Botany Bay, Canterbury, Hurstville, Kogarah, Marrickville, Randwick, Rockdale, South Sydney, Sutherland, Waverley and Woollahra are declared to be a waste management region (to be known as the “Southern Sydney Waste Management Region”).
(2) The local government areas of Bankstown, Baulkham Hills, Blacktown, Fairfield, Holroyd, Hawkesbury, Liverpool, Parramatta and Penrith are declared to be a waste management region (to be known as the “Western Sydney Waste Management Region”).
(3) The local government areas of Hornsby, Hunters Hill, Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, Manly, Mosman, North Sydney, Pittwater, Ryde, Warringah and Willoughby are declared to be a waste management region (to be known as the “Northern Sydney Waste Management Region”).

(4) The local government areas of Camden, Campbelltown, Wollondilly and Wingecarribee are declared to be a waste management region (to be known as the “Macarthur Waste Management Region”).

(5) The local government areas of Cessnock, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Newcastle and Port Stephens are declared to be a waste management region (to be known as the “Hunter Waste Management Region”).

(6) The local government areas of Kiama, Shellharbour, Shoalhaven and Wollongong are declared to be a waste management region (to be known as the “Illawarra Waste Management Region”).

(7) The local government areas of Gosford and Wyong are declared to be a waste management region (to be known as the “Central Coast Waste Management Region”).

(8) The local government areas of Ashfield, Auburn, Burwood, Concord, Drummoyne, Leichhardt, Strathfield and Sydney City are declared to be a waste management region (to be known as the “Inner Sydney Waste Management Region”).

Amendment of Schedule 2 (Description of waste management regions) to the Act

3. Schedule 2 to the Waste Minimisation and Management Act 1995 is amended by inserting the following matter under the headings Name of

waste management region and Local government areas, respectively:
