I, Rear Admiral PETER ROSS SINCLAIR, A.C., Governor of the State of New South Wales, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of section 2 of the Waste Minimisation and Management Act 1995, do, by this my Proclamation, appoint 19 January 1996 as the day on which that Act (other than the following provisions) commences:
(a) sections 44–47 and 49-62;
(b) sections 72 and 90;
(c) Schedule 6.2 [1];
(d) Schedule 6.9 [1 ], [3]–[8], [l l], [ 12], [ 14], [15], [23] and [24].

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The object of this Proclamation is to commence most of the provisions of the Waste Minimisation and Management Act 1995. The excepted provisions relate to the new licensing scheme and contributions by occupiers of certain waste facilities. These provisions will commence when regulations are made in relation to these matters.
