WASTE DISPOSAL ACT 1970—REGULATION

(Relating to contributions payable for waste disposal)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Waste Disposal Act 1970 has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Regulation commences on 1 July 1995.

Amendment

2. The Waste Disposal (Depot Contributions) Regulations 1971 are amended by omitting from Regulation 3 (l) the matter ‘‘$4.20” and by inserting instead the matter “$7.20”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Regulation is to increase (from $4.20 to $7.20) the contribution payable to the Environment Protection Authority by the occupier of a depot for each tonne of waste transported into the depot for treatment, storage or disposal.

This Regulation is made under the Waste Disposal Act 1970, including section 29 (1)

(Contributions to Authority) and section 58 (the general regulation-making power).
