WASTE DISPOSAL ACT 1970—REGULATION
(Relating to contributions payable for waste disposal)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Waste Disposal Act 1970, has been pleased to make the Regulation set forth hereunder.

Commencement
1. This Regulation commences on 1 January 1993.
Amendments
2. The Waste Management Authority Depot Contribution Regulations
1971 are amended:
| (a) | by omitting Regulation 1 (1) and by inserting instead the following clause: |
(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Waste Disposal
(Depot Contributions) Regulations 1971.
| (b) | by omitting from Regulation 3 (1) the matter “$2.80” and by inserting instead the matter “$4.20”. |

EXPLANATORY NOTE
The purpose of this Regulation is to amend the Waste Management Authority Depot Contribution Regulations 1971 made under the Waste Disposal Act 1970 so as:
(a) to change the citation of the Regulations to the Waste Disposal (Depot Contributions) Regulations 1978 to reflect 1991 amendments to the waste Disposal Act 1970 abolishing the Waste Management Authority; and
(b) to increase (from $2.80 to $4.20) the contribution payable to the Environment Protection Authority by the occupier of a depot for each tonne of waste transported into the depot for treatment, storage or disposal.
