Warlike service – OPERATION SOUTHERN WATCH Declaration 2007

I, BRUCE BILLSON, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, make this Declaration under subsection 3C (1) of the Defence Force (Home Loans Assistance) Act 1990.

1              Name of Declaration

This Declaration is the Warlike service – OPERATION SOUTHERN WATCH Declaration 2007.

2              Commencement

This Declaration commences on the day after it is registered.

3              Warlike service – OPERATION SOUTHERN WATCH

For subsection 3C (1) of the Defence Force (Home Loans Assistance) Act 1990, duty is warlike service if it is rendered:

(a)    in an area of operations that comprises Iraq; and

(b)    as a member of the Australian Defence Force allotted for duty on OPERATION SOUTHERN WATCH; and

(c)    during the period 31 August 1992 to 12 January 2003.
