War Service Estates Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, The Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the War Service Estates Act 1942.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The War Service Estates Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

[NOTE: These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Regulation 3 (Interpretation)

2.1   Omit the regulation, substitute:

Interpretation

 “3.In these Regulations, unless the contrary intention appears:

‘Act’ means the War Service Estates Act 1942;

‘Repatriation Commission’ means the Repatriation Commission constituted by the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986;

‘service chief’ means:

• (a)

  in relation to a deceased member who was a member of, or attached to or accompanied, the Navy—the Chief of Navy;

• (b)

  in relation to a deceased member who was a member of, or attached to or accompanied, the Army—the Chief of Army;

• (c)

  in relation to a deceased member who was a member of, or attached to or accompanied, the Air Force—the Chief of Air Force.”.

3.   Further Amendments
