REGULATION UNDER THE WAR PRECAUTIONS ACT 1914–1916.

I, SIR ARTHUR STANLEY, the duly appointed Deputy of the Governor-General, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the War Precautions Act 1914–1916 to come into operation forthwith.

Amendment of War Precautions (Supplementary) Regulations 1916.

(Statutory Rules 1916, No. 97, as amended by Statutory Rules 1916, Nos. 112, 122, 128, 129, 167, 218, 219, 250, 252, 254, and 255.)

Regulation 15 of the War Precautions (Supplementary) Regulations 1916 is amended—

(a) By omitting therefrom the words “fourteen days” and inserting in their stead the words “one month”;

(b) By adding, at the end of paragraph (a) of sub-regulation (1) thereof, the words “ of any part of the principal sum secured by the mortgage”;

(c) By adding, after the word “ proceeding” in paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (1) thereof, the words “, or continue any action or proceeding commenced after the twentieth day of September, One thousand nine hundred and sixteen,”

(d) By adding, at the end of paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (1) thereof, the words “, or the insurance or maintenance of the mortgaged property or the payment of rates, taxes, and other charges, or the doing of any acts for the preservation of the security”;

(e) By omitting, from paragraph (c) of sub-regulation (1) thereof, the word “ or “ (last occurring);

(f) By adding, after the word “proceeding “ in paragraph (d) of sub-regulation (1) thereof, the words”, or continue any action or proceeding commenced after the twentieth day of September, One thousand nine hundred and sixteen,”;

(g) By adding, at the end of sub-regulation (1) thereof, the words “; or

(e) Take any steps for obtaining an order for foreclosure or for possession or occupation.”; and

(h) By adding, at the end of the definition of “Mortgage”, the words “ and any document by which the duration of a mortgage is extended”.
