REGULATIONS UNDER THE WAR PRECAUTIONS ACT 1914-1916.

War Precautions (Supplementary) Regulations 1916— Regulation 25—Amendment.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the War Precautions Act 1914-1916 to come into operation forthwith.

Amendment of War Precautions (Supplementary) Regulations.

War Precautions (Supplementary) Regulation 25, which reads:—

Transmission of postal packets to prisoners of war in enemy countries.

“25. No person shall, except in accordance with such conditions and restrictions as are notified by the Minister for Defence by notice published in the Gazette, transmit from the Commonwealth, or post for the purposes of such transmission, any parcel or packet, which is addressed to, or the contents of which are intended for, a person who is interned as a prisoner of war in any country with which the King is now at war.”

is cancelled and the following substituted therefor:—

Transmission of parcels to British prisoners of war abroad.

“25. No person shall, except in accordance with such conditions and restrictions as are notified by the Minister for Defence by notice published in the Gazettetransmit from the Commonwealth, or post for the purpose of such transmission, any parcel or packet, which is addressed to, or the contents of which are intended for, a British subject interned as a prisoner of war in any neutral or enemy country.”
