STATUTORY RULES.
REGULATION UNDER THE WAR PRECAUTIONS ACT 1914-1916.

advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation
under the

Amendment of War Precautions Regulations as Amended to this Date.
After regulation 27c of the War Precautions Regulations, the following regulation is inserted:—
“27d. (1) The Minister or a competent military authority may, by order in writing under his hand, prohibit the holding of any public meeting which is, in his opinion, prejudicial to the public safety or the defence of the Commonwealth.
“(2) An order under the last preceding sub-regulation may prohibit the holding of a public meeting within any period or in any place specified in the order.
“(3) Any person attending any public meeting, the holding of which has been prohibited under this regulation, shall be guilty of an offence.
“(4) If an order is made in pursuance of this regulation prohibiting the holding of any public meeting in any premises, any officer of police and any person thereto authorized, in writing by the Minister, or by a competent military authority, may, for the purpose of enforcing the provisions of the order, enter if need be by force and search or occupy the premises referred to in the order.”.
