REGULATIONS UNDER THE WAR PRECAUTIONS ACT 1914–1916,
War Precautions Regulations 1915— Regulation 19c —Addition.
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL, in and over the Commonwealth of Australia,
acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the
following Regulation under the

THE War Precautions Regulations 1915.
After Regulation 19b insert the following new Regulation:—
19c. (1) Any person having possession or custody of an official document who without reasonable excuse communicates the contents or any part thereof to any other person shall be guilty of an offence against the Act.
(2) Any person who without authority makes any copy of or extract from an official document shall be guilty of an offence against the Act.
(3) Any person found in possession of an official document without authority shall be guilty of an offence against the Act.
(4) Any person into whose possession or custody an official document comes without authority shall immediately after such document comes into his possession or custody deliver it at the nearest Police Station to the member of the Police Force in charge of such station together with a statement in writing setting forth how it come into his possession or custody; and any person who fails to do so shall be guilty of an offence against the Act.
(5) For the purposes of this paragraph “official document” means any book, paper, map or writing of the Department of Defence or of the Department of the Navy, or any book, paper, map or writing having reference to the public safety or the defence of the Commonwealth belonging to the Imperial Government or the Commonwealth Government or the Government of any State or part of the Empire.
