REGULATIONS UNDER THE WAR PRECAUTIONS ACT 1914-1916.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulations under the War Precautions Act 1914-1916 to come into operation forthwith.

War Precautions (Pig Iron) Regulations.

Short title.

1. These Regulations may be cited as the War Precautions (Pig Iron) Regulations 1918.

Notice to have stocks of pig iron.

2. A Director of Munitions may, by notice in writing served upon any person, firm or company engaged in the production of pig iron, require the person, firm or company to have in stock on the first day of each calendar month for distribution during that month such quantity of foundry pig iron as is specified in the notice.

Quantities of pig iron to be produced.

3. Any person, firm or company engaged in the production of pig iron shall produce such quantities of foundry pig iron as are necessary to enable the person, firm or company to comply with any notice served on him or it in pursuance of the last preceding regulation.

Supply of pig iron.

4. No person, firm or company engaged in the production of pig iron shall accept orders for, or supply, pig iron except in accordance with directions issued by a Director of Munitions.

Power to enter and inspect premises, &c.

5. A Director of Munitions or any person thereto authorized in writing by him may enter at any reasonable hour in the day time the premises of any person, firm or company engaged in the production of pig iron and inspect the works, stocks and books of the person, firm or company, and no person shall resist or obstruct the Director or person in the exercise of the powers conferred by this regulation.

Offences.

6. Any person, firm or company who or which, without reasonable cause fails to comply with any requirement or direction given by a Director of Munitions under these Regulations shall be guilty of an offence.
