REGULATIONS UNDER THE WAR PRECAUTIONS ACT 1914–16.
War Precautions (Passports) Regulations 1916.— Regulations 5 and 7—Additions: Regulation 5 (1)— Amendment.
I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia,
acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the
following Regulations under the

War Precautions (Passports) Regulations 1916.
In Regulation 5 (1),
(viii) Any person to whom an Emergency Permit Authorizing him to leave the Commonwealth without producing his passport has been issued;
(ix) any person entering or leaving the Commonwealth in the custody of the law;
(x) any person ordered by the Government of the Commonwealth or of any State to leave the Commonwealth;
(xi) any alien enemy or naturalized subject of enemy origin leaving the Commonwealth with the permission of a competent naval or military authority;
(xii) any aboriginal native of Asia or of any island in the East Indies or in the Indian or Pacific Oceans leaving the Commonwealth.
Regulation 7 is amended by inserting
the following new clause after clause (
“(
aa )being the master of a vessel, discharges any alien seaman signed on outside the Commonwealth who is not in possession of a passport, or" Regulation 5 (1) is amended by inserting the following words at the end of clause, (vi):—“and all persons travelling from Papua or Norfolk Island who are in possession of permits to visit the Commonwealth issued by the proper authorities in those places.”
