REGULATION UNDER THE DEFENCE ACT 1903-1918.

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL in and over the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, hereby make the following Regulation under the Defence Act 1903-1918, to come into operation forthwith.

Amendment of War Financial Regulations.

Regulation 59a of War Financial Regulations is repealed, and the following regulation inserted in lieu thereof, to take effect as from 1st July, 1916:—

“59a. A grant of £5 for the provision of suitable uniform may be made to each member of the Militia Forces and others (excepting such members of the Permanent Forces as are elsewhere provided for in this respect) on being temporarily appointed to be Acting Staff Sergeants-Major on the Instructional Staff, and a further grant of £5 may be made to them after two years’ service on the Instructional Staff from the date upon which the first payment was due, provided that in the case of members of the Militia Forces, they shall have received no issues of uniform as members of the Militia Forces whilst serving on the Instructional Staff”.
