Wagering Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2012 [s 1] 1 Short title This regulation may be cited as the Wagering Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2012 . 2 Regulation amended This regulation amends the Wagering Regulation 1999. 3 Amendment of s 3 (Definitions) Section 3— insert — ‘ 2 dividend race means a race— (a) where— (i) there are 5, 6 or 7 runners in the race at the time an authority operator is notified, by the race club conducting the race, of scratchings for the race; and (ii) at least 4 runners start in the race; or (b) where— (i) there are at least 8 runners in the race at the time an authority operator is notified, by the race club conducting the race, of scratchings for the race; and (ii) 4, 5 or 6 runners start in the race. 3 dividend race means a race where— (a) there are at least 8 runners in the race at the time an authority operator is notified, by the race club conducting the race, of scratchings for the race; and (b) at least 7 runners start in the race. any 2 , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator operated on a race that provides dividends for investors who select any 2 of the runners that place first, Page 2 2012 SL No. 7

Wagering Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2012 [s 3] second and third in the race, regardless of the order in which the selected runners place in the race. double , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator— (a) operated on 2 races selected by an authority operator, and conducted— (i) at the same race meeting on the same day; or (ii) at different race meetings on different days; or (iii) at different race meetings on the same day; and (b) that provides dividends for investors who select the runner that places first in each of the 2 races. double trio , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator that provides dividends for investors who select, in any order, the combination of runners that place first, second and third in each of 2 races selected by an authority operator. first four , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator operated on a race that provides dividends for investors who select, in the correct order, the combination of runners that place first, second, third and fourth in the race. forecast , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator operated on a race that provides dividends for investors who select, in the correct order, the combination of runners that place first and second in the race. place , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator operated on a race that provides dividends for investors who select the runner that places— (a) for a 2 dividend race—first or second in the race; or (b) for a 3 dividend race—first, second or third in the race. quadrella , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator— (a) operated on 4 races selected by an authority operator, and conducted at the same race meeting on the same day; and 2012 SL No. 7 Page 3

Wagering Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2012 [s 3] Page 4 (b) that provides dividends for investors who select the runner that places first in each of the 4 races. quinella , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator operated on a race that provides dividends for investors who select, in any order, the combination of runners that place first and second in the race. six pic , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means— (a) a totalisator operated on a race that provides dividends for investors who select, in the correct order, the combination of runners that place in the first 6 places in the race; or (b) a totalisator that provides dividends for investors who select the runner that places first in each of 6 consecutive races at the same race meeting on the same day. sports wagering event , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator that is operated on an event mentioned in the definition event, paragraph (b). sweepstake , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator operated on a race, or a number of races— (a) where a number is given by the authority operator operating the totalisator to an investment on the totalisator; and (b) that provides a dividend for each investor whose number is allocated to a runner in the race or races. treble , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator— (a) operated on 3 races selected by an authority operator, and conducted— (i) at the same race meeting on the same day; or (ii) at different race meetings on different days; or (iii) at different race meetings on the same day; and (b) that provides dividends for investors who select the runner that places first in each of the 3 races. 2012 SL No. 7

Wagering Amendment Regulation (No. 1) 2012 [s 4] trifecta , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator operated on a race that provides dividends for investors who select, in the correct order, the combination of runners that place first, second and third in the race. win , for a class of totalisator under schedule 1A, means a totalisator operated on a race that provides dividends for investors who select the runner that places first in the race.’. 4 Amendment of s 5 (Calculating commission—Act, s 163) (1) Section 5(1)(b)— omit , insert — ‘(b) otherwise, for a totalisator of a class mentioned in schedule 1A, column 1, by applying the percentage mentioned in schedule 1A, column 2 shown opposite the class of totalisator to the total amount invested in the totalisator.’. (2) Section 5(2)— omit , insert — ‘(2) For section 163(2) of the Act, the amount for a financial year, for the Golden Casket Lottery Corporation Limited ACN 078 785 449, on totalisators conducted for the game ‘Sports Tipping’ is calculated as 50% of the total amount invested in the year in the totalisators.’. 5 Insertion of new sch 1A Before schedule 1— insert — ‘Schedule 1A Commissions for totalisators 2012 SL No. 7 Page 5
