AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 1991

Made by His Excellency the Governor in Executive Council.
Citation

1.These regulations may be cited as the WA. Marine (Adjustment of

Compasses) Amendment Regulations 1991.

Principal regulations

2.In these regulations the WA. Marine (Adjustment of Compasses) Regula-

tions 1983* are referred to as the principal regulations.

Regulation 2A repealed

3.Regulation 2A of the principal regulations is repealed.

Regulation 4 amended

4.Regulation 4 of the principal regulations is amended by repealing subregu-

lations (1) and (2) and substituting the following subregulations—

(1) Subject to subregulation (2) the compass of a vessel shall be adjusted

by an adjuster of compasses and a deviation card shall be furnished—

(a) before an initial certificate of survey of the vessel is issued; and
(b) thereafter at intervals not exceeding 3 years.

(2) Where the General Manager is satisfied that a compass adjustment is not required or that an adjustment may be deferred without detriment to the safety of the vessel, the General Manager may exempt the vessel from compass adjustment for such period as the General Manager may determine.

(2a) A deviation card referred to in subregulation (1) shall be in a form

approved by the General Manager. ".
