HEREAS it is expedient to amend An Act NO. 2 of 1854, Preamble.

..To organize and establish a Volunteer Military Force in South Australia"-Be it therefore Enacted by the Governor-in-Chief of the Province of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly of the said Province, in this present Parliament assembled, as follows:

1. So much of the said Act as nuthoriecs any troop or company Rcpcal ofpower of

of the Volunteers by thc said Act authorized to he raised, to recom- any such troop or company, is hereby repealed.

every volunteer, there shall be paid to every volunteer, duly enrolled vohinteors.

2. Instead of the sums by the said Act authorized to bc paid to Sums to be paid to

under the authority of tlic said Act, for every day of the period for which he may be called out for the purpose of exercise or training, o r for actual service, the sums following, that is to say :-To each volunteer, the sum of Three Shillings and Sixpence; and an addi- tional sum of' POW Shillings for marching money, for every day in which he sh.& be required to leave the district in which hc is enrolled.

3. This Act may be cited as "The Volunteer Amendment Act."
