T T 7 HERE AS the pei’sons named in the Schedule to this Act would Preamble.

have been entitled to receive certificates of efficiency under the “ Volunteer Eorce Regulation Act of 1867” (being the Act thirty-one Victoria number five) and the Regulations thereunder to the effect that the persons therein named had each served as an efficient Volun teer for the period prescribed by the said Act and which would have entitled such persons to free grants of lands as in the said Act provided And whereas by reason of death disability unavoidable accident

misfortune or other like impediment not attributable to the neglect or other default of the persons themselves such certificates of efficiency cannot be lawfully granted to the persons so named as aforesaid and it is expedient to authorize the issue of such certificates in the cases specified in the said Schedule Be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of New South Wales in Parliament assembled and by authority of the same as follows:—
