W f HE REAS doubts have arisen as to the meaning of the forty-Preamble.

1. That the words in the forty-fourth section of the said Act Extension of s. 44 of * * 1 A #■ *

“ dating from the first day of January one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight” shall be read and understood to mean “ on and after the first day of January one thousand eight hundred and sixty-eight.”
