Vocational Training Regulations2 (Amendment)

The Australian Capital Territory Executive hereby makes the following Regulations under the Vocational Training Act 1989.

Principal Regulations

1. In these Regulations, “Principal Regulations” means the Vocational Training Regulations.

Trades

2.  Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting “the Schedule” and substituting “Schedule 1”.

Insertion

3.  After regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations the following regulation is inserted:

Declared vocations

“3A.  A vocation specified in Schedule 2 is a declared vocation for the purposes of the definition of “declared vocation” in subsection 6 (1) of the Act.”.

Schedule

4.  The Schedule to the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a)by omitting “Schedule” and substituting “Schedule 1”; and

(b)by inserting—

(i)after the heading—

“Metal Fitting and machining trades”

the following item:

“1A.Engineering tradesperson—mechanical”;

(ii)after item 4 the following item:

“4A.Engineering tradesperson—fabrication”; and

(iii)after item 12 the following item:

“12A.Engineering tradesperson—electrical/electronic”.

Schedule 2

5.  The Principal Regulations are amended by adding at the end the following Schedule:

Schedule 2  Regulation 3A

Declared vocations

Any of the following traineeships under the Australian Traineeship System:

Public Service Sector—office administration

Public Service Sector—office technology

Private Sector—office procedures

banking

gardening assistant

hospitality—waiting

automotive tyre—servicing and sales

retail operation sales

automotive spare parts”.
