Citation

1. These regulations may be cited as the Vocational Education, Employment and Training

Regulations 1996.

Commencement

2. These regulations come into operation on 2 May 1996.

Interpretation

3. In these regulations—

"Act" means the Vocational Education, Employment and Training Act 1994.

Fees

4. (1) The Minister may fix fees payable to the Minister for the performance of ARC’s

functions under the Act, including the following functions:

(a)

accrediting courses and registering education and training providers under Part 3 of the Act;

(b)

renewing or reviewing accreditation or registration under Part 3 of the Act;

(c)

performing functions assigned to ARC under Part 4 of the Act in relation to trades and declared vocations;

(d)

granting certificates to persons completing education and training courses;

(e)

assessing, and granting certificates certifying, the competency of persons who have acquired qualifications or skills otherwise than through courses accredited by ARC.

(2) The Minister may—

(a)

waive or reduce (in a particular case or classes of cases) fees that would otherwise be payable under this regulation; and

(b)

refund (in whole or in part) a fee paid under this regulation.

(3) The Minister may recover a fee payable under this regulation as a debt.
