Amendment Regulations 2017

Made by the Governor in Executive Council.

(Colleges) Regulations 1996.

1.           Citation

These regulations are the Vocational Education and Training (Colleges) Amendment Regulations 2017.
2.	Commencement These regulations come into operation as follows —

(a)	regulations 1 and 2— on the day on which these regulations are published in the Gazette;
(b)	the rest of the regulations — on the day after that day.

These regulations amend the Vocational Education and Training

4.            Regulation 3 amended

In regulation 3 insert in alphabetical order:

concession-eligible course means -

(a)	a category 1 course that is specified under regulation 4(313) to be eligible for course fee concessions and exemptions; or
(b)	a category 2 course; or
(c)	a category 3 course;

Regulation 4 amended

After regulation 4(3A) insert:

(313) In the instrument referred to in subregulation (1), the

Minister may specify that a category 1 course is eligible for course fee concessions and exemptions.

6.            Regulation 11 amended

In regulation 1 1(1)(a) after "item 2," insert:

2A,

7.            Regulation 20 amended

In regulation 20(2) delete "any category 2 or 3 course -" and insert:

a concession-eligible course -

8. Regulation 21 amended
In regulation 21 delete "category 2 or 3 course," and insert:

a concession-eligible course,

Note: The heading to amended regulation 21 is to read:

Concessional rate for concession-eligible course where there is financial hardship

9.            Regulation 23 amended

(1) In regulation 23(1AA):

(a) delete "does not apply" and insert:

applies

(b) delete "course at the Diploma or the Advanced Diploma level." and insert:

concession-eligible course or a category 4 course.

(2) In regulation 23(1) and (2) after "by a person" insert:

to whom this regulation applies

10.          Schedule 1 amended

(1)	In Schedule 1 item 2 after "Category 1 course" insert:
which is not a concession-eligible course
(2)	In Schedule 1 after item 2 insert:
2A.	Category 1 course which is a concession-eligible course -
(a) for a student who is not a concessional student......................................................
(b) for a concessional student .........................
