Vocational Education and Training Amendment Regulations 2003
I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, make the following regulations under the Vocational Education and Training Act 1994 .15 December 2003

1Short titleThese regulations may be cited as the Vocational Education and Training Amendment Regulations 2003 . 2CommencementThese regulations take effect on the day on which the Vocational Education and Training Amendment Act 2003 commences. 3Principal RegulationsIn these regulations, the Vocational Education and Training Regulations 1995 are referred to as the Principal Regulations. 4Regulation 3 amended (Interpretation) Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended by omitting the definitions of block release , course , day release , training program and short course and substituting the following definitions: certificate level means a certificate of that level specified in the Australian Qualifications Framework; short course means a course that leads to a statement of attainment. 5Regulation 5 rescinded Regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations is rescinded. 6Schedules 1 and 2 amended Schedules 1 and 2 to the Principal Regulations are rescinded and the following Schedule is substituted: Schedule 1Fees Regulation 4

1. | Application fee for registration as a registered training organisation under section 30 of the Act | 400 plus an additional 27.5 per hour to a maximum of 270 |
2. | Application fee for accreditation of training courses under section 32T of the Act – |
(a) short course | 150 |
(b) course at certificate Level 1 | 600 |
(c) course at certificate Level 2 | 600 |
(d) course at certificate Level 3 | 800 |
(e) course at certificate Level 4 | 800 |
(f) diploma | 1 000 |
(g) advanced diploma | 1 000 |
3. | Application fee for inquiry under section 67 of the Act | 110 |

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the regulation) These regulations amend the
(a) consequent on the commencement of the Vocational Education and Training Amendment Act 2003 ; and (b) by removing provisions relating to travel and meal allowances that are no longer required to be prescribed; and (c) by converting the fees into fee units.
