Victorian Inspectorate Amendment Regulations 2024

The Lieutenant-Governor as the Governor's deputy, with the advice of the Executive Council, makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Victorian Inspectorate Regulations 2023—

(a)to prescribe support services for the purposes of the Victorian Inspectorate Act 2011, following amendments made to that Act by the Justice Legislation Amendment (Integrity, Defamation and Other Matters) Act 2024; and

(b)to remove a reference to the Office of the Special Investigator in a form.

2Authorising provisions

These Regulations are made under sections 103 and 104 of the Victorian Inspectorate Act 2011.

3Commencement

These Regulations come into operation on 1 November 2024.

4Prescribed support services

In regulation 7 of the Victorian Inspectorate Regulations 2023[1]—

(a)for "section 39(2)(f)(iii)" substitute "sections 39(2)(f)(iii) and 97AA(4)(i)";

(b)omit "to a person subject to a confidentiality notice".

5Form 1 of Schedule 1 amended

In Form 1 of Schedule 1 to the Victorian Inspectorate Regulations 2023, for—

"·    the Chief Municipal Inspector;

·the Office of the Special Investigator."

substitute—

"·    the Chief Municipal Inspector.".
