MELBOURNE, 25 AUGUST 2010

[1] The Victorian Employers’ Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VECCI) has lodged applications to vary approximately 80 modern awards in relation to the minimum period of engagement. The applications were listed for mention yesterday in Melbourne.

[2] VECCI is directed to file an outline of its submissions together with any witness statements and other material on which it will seek to rely by 8 October 2010. The outline, statements and other material are to be filed electronically at [email protected].

[3] The applications are available on Fair Work Australia’s website on the VECCI applications page. All material filed in connection with the applications will be made available at that address.

[4] There will be a further directions hearing in relation to the applications on 22 October 2010. At that hearing parties will be expected to make submissions concerning the procedure to be adopted to deal with the applications, any preliminary applications and any other issues.
