| Preamble. | T T rilER EA S an Act was passed on tlie twenty-nintli day of August, |
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-four, in the forty- eighth year of the reign of Her Majesty Queen Victoria, intituled “ A n Act to authorize the construction and maintenance o f a line of railway from land at Mount Kenibla to the sea coast at Fort Kembla near Tied Eoint near Wollongong,” and Thomas Saywell, of Sydney, merchant, his heirs and assigns trading as the Victorian Coal-mining Company were thereby authorized to make, construct, and maintain a railway from lands belonging to the said Company through the lands and in the direction described in the Eirst Schedule to the said Act. And whereas it was provided by the Eirst Section of the said Act that the said railway should he constructed and brought into use Avithin the term of three years from the passing of the said Act, and that in default thereof, or if after its completion, the said railway should cease to be used for three years continuously, all the said lands and all the Company’s interest and estate therein should revert Avitliout any conveyance to the original oAA'ners thereof, their heirs and assigns. And whereas it has been found inexpedient and impracticable for tlic said Company to construct and bring into use the said railAA'ay Avithin the said period of three years. And Avhereas the said period of three years has noAV expired, and it is desirable to continue the provisions of the said Act. Be it therefore enacted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative ^ksscmhly of X cav South "Wales in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as folloAvs :—■
