Victoria Police Amendment Regulations 2021

The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective

The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Victoria Police Regulations 2014—

(a)to update the definition of rail premises due to the Transport Legislation Amendment Act 2019; and

(b)to amend the rank structure for protective services officers.

2Authorising provision

These Regulations are made under section 277 of the Victoria PoliceAct 2013.

3Principal Regulations

In these Regulations, the Victoria Police Regulations 2014[1] are called the Principal Regulations.

4Definitions

In regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations, for paragraph (d) of the definition of rail premises substitute—

"(d)the Head, Transport for Victoria in connection with its functions in relation to a passenger service within the meaning of section 3(1) of the Rail Management Act 1996;".

5Rank structure and seniority

In regulation 10(1)(a) and (b) of the Principal Regulations, for "supervisor" substitute "sergeant".
