Victoria Police Amendment Regulations 2020
The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Victoria Police Regulations 2014 to prescribe additional designated places for the purposes of section 52 of the Victoria Police Act 2013.
2Authorising provision
These Regulations are made under section 277 of the Victoria PoliceAct 2013.
3Commencement
(1)These Regulations (except regulation 9) come into operation on the day after the day on which they are made.
(2)Regulation 9 comes into operation on the first anniversary of the day on which these Regulations are made.
4Principal Regulations
In these Regulations, the Victoria Police Regulations 2014[1] are called the Principal Regulations.
5Definitions
In regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations insert the following definitions—
"Council has the same meaning as it has in section 3(1) of the Local Government Act 2020;
municipal district has the same meaning as it has in section 3(1) of the Local Government Act 2020;".
6Designated place
In regulation 27 of the Principal Regulations—
(a)in paragraph (j) for "operation." substitute "operation;";
(b)after paragraph (j) insert—
"(k)the Melbourne metropolitan area;
(l)the municipal district of a Council referred to in Schedule 2.".
7Schedule heading amended
In the heading to the Schedule to the Principal Regulations, for "Schedule" substitute "Schedule 1".
8New Schedule 2 inserted
After Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations insert—
"Schedule 2
Regulation 27(l)
Greater Geelong City Council
Ballarat City Council
Greater Bendigo City Council
La Trobe City Council
Mildura Rural City Council
Greater Shepparton City Council
Wodonga City Council
Warrnambool City Council
Rural City of Wangaratta Council".
9Revocation of amendments
(1)In regulation 4 of the Principal Regulations, the definitions of Council and municipal district are revoked.
(2)In regulation 27 of the Principal Regulations—
(a)in paragraph (j) for "operation;" substitute "operation.";
(b)paragraphs (k) and (l) are revoked.
(3)In the heading to Schedule 1 to the Principal Regulations, for "Schedule 1" substitute "Schedule".
(4)Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is revoked.
