An Act to empower the Corporation of Adelaide to lease a portion of

the Park La~zds

as a Pzcblic Racecourse.

CAssented to, 12th November, 1863.1

HEREAS it is desirable to enable thc Corporation of the City Preamble.

W of Adelaide to lease a portion of the Park Lands as a Public: Racecourse-Be it therefore Enacted by the Governor-in-Chief of the Province of South Austmlia, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and IIouse of Asscmbly of the said Province, in this present Parliament asscmblcd, as follows:

1. The Corporation of the City of Adelaidc may lease to thsec or Power to Cor oration

more trustees, and for any periods not exceeding twenty-one years, ,, r,,,,,,,.

a convcnient vortion, not exceeding one hundred and thirty acres, of

the East ~ a r ~ ~ a n d s; to be held by such trustccs upon tmst; to appro- priate and maintain the same as ancl for a racecourse, upon and subject to such terms and conditions, and with such pov7ers, as to the erection of booths on such ground, during the time the sqme may be used for racing purposcs, and for admission to any grand stand to be erected thereon, ancl also for the admission of, or refi~sal of admis- sion, to any pcrsons, horses, or other animals, or any vehicles to such portion of' the Park Lands, when so leased as aforesaid, as to the said Corporation may seem fit, with power to appoint new trustees

as occasion may arise, and to insert in any such lease any other

clauses, powers, provisions, or limitations, as may be considered necessary for the management or maintenance of the said racecourse.
