Victims of Crime (Offender Service and Joinder) Amendment Act 2019

An Act to amend the Victims of Crime Act 2001.

The Parliament of South Australia enacts as follows:

Part 1Preliminary1Short title

This Act may be cited as the Victims of Crime (Offender Service and Joinder) Amendment Act 2019.

2Commencement

This Act will come into operation on a day to be fixed by proclamation.

3Amendment provisions

In this Act, a provision under a heading referring to the amendment of a specified Act amends the Act so specified.

Part 2Amendment of Victims of Crime Act 2001

4Amendment of section 18 – Application for compensation

Section 18(4)(c)—delete paragraph (c)

5Amendment of section 19 – Joinder of offender as party to court proceedings

Section 19(3)(b)—delete "if the whereabouts of the offender are not known and cannot be readily ascertained,"
