Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance) Amendment Act 2000

An Act to amend the Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance) Act 1983

[Notified in ACT Gazette S33: 6 July 2000]

The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

  1. Name of Act

    This Act is the Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance) Amendment Act 2000.

  2. Commencement

    This Act commences on the day it is notified in the Gazette.

  3. Act amended

    This Act amends the Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance) Act 1983.

  4. Imposition of levy

    Section 68 is amended by omitting subsection (1) and substituting the following subsection:

(1)    If a person is convicted of an offence that this Part applies to, the person is liable to pay the Territory a levy of $50.”.
