VICTIMS COMPENSATION ACT 1987 - RULE

(Relating to service of documents)

HIS Excellency the Governor, with the advice of the Executive Council, and in pursuance of the Victims Compensation Act 1987, has been pleased to make the Rule set forth hereunder.

Commencement

1. This Rule commences on 11 May 1990.

Amendment

2. The Victims Compensation Rule 1988 is amended by inserting

after clause 4 the following clause:

Service of documents

5. A document required or authorised to be served by or under the

Act may be served:

(a) personally; or

(b)

by leaving it at, or by sending it by post to, the last known residential address of the person on whom it is to be served.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

The object of this Rule is to amend the Victims Compensation Rule 1988 to provide that a document authorised or required to be served under the Victims Compensation Act 1987 may be served personally or by leaving it at, or by sending it by post to, the last known residential address of the person on whom it is to be served.
