VETERINARY SURGEONS AMENDMENT REGULATIONS 1990

Made by His Excellency the Governor in Executive Council.
Citation

1.These regulations may be cited as the Veterinary Surgeons Amendment

Regulations 1990.
Principal regulations

2.In these regulations the Veterinary Surgeons Regulations 1979* are referred

to as the principal regulations.

Regulations 29 and 30 repealed

Regulation 32 amended

4.  Regulation 32 of the principal regulations is amended by repealing subreg-

ulation (4).
Heading to regulations 44 to 51 amended
5. The heading to regulations 44 to 51 of the principal regulations is amended
by deleting "Signs".
Regulations 44 to 48 repealed
and a regulation substituted
6. Regulations 44 to 48 of the principal regulations are repealed and the

following regulation is substituted-

44. (1) Except as provided in subregulations (2) and (3), a veterinary

surgeon may advertise in connection with his practice.

(2) A veterinary surgeon shall not publish or cause or permit to be

published an advertisement that—

(a)	is false or misleading;
(b)	is vulgar or sensational;
(c)	is likely to affect adversely the reputation or standing of any

veterinary surgeon or the veterinary profession; or

(d) expressly or impliedly claims superiority for the veterinary

surgeon over any or all other veterinary surgeons.

(3) A veterinary surgeon shall not personally canvass for clients or cause or permit a person to personally canvass for clients on behalf of the veterinary surgeon.

(4) An advertisement in connection with a veterinary practice may contain a statement of the fields of veterinary surgery in respect of which the veterinary surgeon will not accept work ".

Regulation 51 repealed
7. Regulation 51 of the principal regulations is repealed.
Regulations 52 to 54 and headings repealed

8.  Regulations 52 to 54 of the principal regulations and the headings to those

regulations are repealed.
Regulations 56 to 59 and heading repealed
9. Regulations 56 to 59 of the principal regulations and the heading to those
regulations are repealed.
