This regulation may be cited as the Veterinary Surgeons Amendment Regulation 1991.

2 Veterinary Surgeons Amendment Regulation 1991 Commencement 2. This regulation commences on 1 January 1992. Amended regulations 3. The Veterinary Surgeons Regulation s 1991 are amended as set out in this regulation. Name of provision units 4.(1) A provision of the Veterinary Surgeons Regulations 1991 that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a regulation may be called a section. (2) A provision of the Veterinary Surgeons Regulations 1991 that was, immediately before the commencement of this section, called a subregulation may be called a subsection. (3) A reference in the Veterinary Surgeons Regulations 1991 to a regulation or subregulation of the regulations designated by a number is a reference to a section or subsection of the regulations designated by that number. Replacement of s.1 (Short title) 5. Section 1— omit, insert— ‘Short title ‘1. This regulation may be cited as the Veterinary Surgeons Regulation1991 . ’. Insertion of s.5A (Primary and secondary registration) 6. After section 5 (Fees)— insert—

3 Veterinary Surgeons Amendment Regulation 1991 ‘Primary and secondary registration ‘5A.(1) A person entitled to be registered as a veterinary surgeon under section 18 of the Act may apply for— (a) primary registration as a veterinary surgeon—if the majority of the person’s practice is carried on in Queensland; or (b) secondary registration as a veterinary surgeon—if the majority of the person’s practice is carried on in another State or a Territory. ‘(2) A veterinary surgeon entitled to be registered as a veterinary specialist under section 19C of the Act may apply for— (a) primary registration as a veterinary specialist—if the majority of the veterinary surgeon’s practice is carried on in Queensland; or (b) secondary registration as a veterinary specialist—if the majority of the veterinary surgeon’s practice is carried on in another State or a Territory. ’.
