7 08 ( u&ett nlattl ANNO TERTIO DECIMO ELIZABETHAE SECUNDAE REGINAE No. 64 of 1964 An Act to Amend "The Veterinary Surgeons Acts, 1936 to 1946 ," in certain particulars [ASSENTED TO 23RD DECEMBER, 1964] BE IT ENACTED by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland in Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:- 1. (1) Short title . This Act may be cited as " The Veterinary Surgeons Acts Amendment Act of 1964." (2) Principal Act. " The Veterinary Surgeons Acts, 1936 to 1946 " are in this Act referred to as the Principal Act. (3) Collective title . The Principal Act and this Act may be collectively cited as " The Veterinary Surgeons Acts, 1936 to 1964."
Veterinary Surgeons Acts Amendment Act of 1964, No. 64 709 2. Amendments of s. 4 . Section four of the Principal Act is amended by- (a) in subsection (1) omitting the words " Under Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Stock, who shall be ex officio a member of the Board and shall be permanent ". (b) adding the following subsection:- " (7) Appointment of president . The Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Minister shall appoint the president of the Board. No person shall be appointed president or shall continue as president unless he is- (a) a senior officer of the Department of Primary Industries; and (b) a veterinary surgeon. The president shall hold office at the pleasure of the Governor in Council."
