AN ACT to amend the Veterinary Preparations and

Animal Feeding Stuffs Act 1976.

BE it enacted by the Queen's Most ExcellentMajesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Veterinary

Preparations and Animal Feeding Stuffs Amend-

ment Act 1981.

and citation.

(2) In this Act the Veterinary Preparations and Animal Feeding Stuffs Act 1976 is referred to as the principal Act.

(3) The principal Act as amended by this Act may be cited as the Veterinary Preparations and Animal Feeding Stuffs Act 1976-1981.

Section 5 2. Section 5 of the principal Act is amended in subsection (1) in the definition of "animal feeding stuff" by deleting "for consumption by any animal or offered for sale for that purpose; and includes" and substituting the following

for consumption, or offered for sale for

consumption, by any animal other than

(a)	a dog or cat;
(b)	a fish kept as a domestic pet and not for the purpose of human consump- tion; or
(c)	a bird kept as a domestic pet and not for the purpose of human consump- tion or the laying of eggs for human consumption;

and includes "

amended. 3. Section 15 of the principal Act is amended in subsection (1) by deleting "veterinary medicine" and substituting the following-
