I, Michael Ronaldson, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, as required by:

(a) subsection 90A(4) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986;

(b) subsection 286(3) of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004;and (c) subsection 17(6) of the Australian Participants in British Nuclear Tests

(Treatment) Act 2006;

approve the revocation by the Repatriation Commission and the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission of the Veterans’ Affairs (Private Patient Principles Re-Making) Instrument 2014 (Instrument 2014 No.R79/MRCC79).

The Repatriation Commission (RC), under subsection 90A(3) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 (VEA) and subsection 17(5) of the Australian Participants in British Nuclear Tests (Treatment) Act 2006 (APBNT(T)A) revokes the Veterans’ Affairs (Private Patient Principles Re-Making) Instrument 2014 (Instrument 2014 No.R79/MRCC79).

The Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Commission (MRCC), under subsection 286(2) of the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 (MRCA) revokes the Veterans’ Affairs (Private Patient Principles Re-Making) Instrument 2014 (Instrument 2014 No.R79/MRCC79).

1    This instrument is the Veterans’ Affairs (Private Patient Principles Re-Making) Revocation Instrument 2015.

Commencement

2    This instrument commences when the Repatriation Private Patient Principles (Instrument 2015 No. R33) commences.

Note: the Repatriation Private Patient Principles commence on the day after registration.

Transitional

3 A process (e.g. a request) commenced under Schedule 1, 2 or 3 of the Veterans’ Affairs (Private Patient Principles Re-Making) Instrument 2014 and not finalised on the commencement of this instrument may be completed under, respectively:

(a) the Repatriation Private Patient Principles (Instrument 2015 No. R33);

(b) the MRCA Private Patient Principles 2004 (Instrument 2015 No. MRCC 33); or

(c) the Veterans’ Affairs (Modified Repatriation Private Patient Principles - Australian Participants in British Nuclear Tests) Instrument 2006 (Instrument R34);

as if the process had been commenced under that instrument.
