Veterans’ Entitlements Regulations 2(Amendment)

I, THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL of the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Federal Executive Council, make the following Regulations under the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986.

1.   Amendment

1.1   The Veterans’ Entitlements Regulations are amended as set out in these Regulations.

 These Regulations commence on gazettal: see Acts Interpretation Act 1901, s. 48.]

2.   Regulation 2 (Interpretation)

2.1   Definition of “veteran”:

Omit the definition, substitute:

“ ‘veteran’ means:

• (a)

  a veteran as defined in paragraph (a) of the definition of ‘veteran’ in subsection 5C (1) of the Act; or

• (b)

  a member of the Forces, or a member of a Peacekeeping Force, as defined in subsection 68 (1) of the Act.”.
