I, WARREN SNOWDON, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, make this Determination under subsection 5C (1) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986.

1 Name of Determination

This Determination is the Veterans’ Entitlements (Non-warlike Service – NATO no-fly-zone and maritime enforcement operation against Libya) Determination 2012.

2 Commencement

This Determination commences on the day after it is registered.

3 Definition

In this Determination:

ADF means the Australian Defence Force.

NATO means the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Section 4

4 Non- warlike service

For subsection 5C (1) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986, service in an operation mentioned in Schedule 1 is non-warlike service if the service:

(a)is in an area of operation mentioned in Schedule 1; and

(b)occurs:

i.during a period mentioned in Schedule 1, or

ii.on and from the start date mentioned in Schedule 1.
