Determination of Warlike Service

OPERATION PALATE

I, De-Anne Kelly, Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, for the Minister for Defence:

a.revoke the determination made under subsection 5C(1) of the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 (the Act) on 18 June 2003 in relation to Operation PALATE; and

b.       determine that:

(i).   the area of operations comprises Afghanistan; and

(ii).   service rendered as a member of the Australian Defence Force allotted for service on Operation PALATE during the period 18 April 2003 to 30 June 2004 in the area of operations is warlike service for the purposes of the definition of “warlike service” in subsection 5C(1) of the Act.
