1  Name

This instrument is the VET Student Loans (Courses and Loan Caps) Amendment Determination (No. 2) 2017.

2  Commencement

(1)  Each provision of this instrument specified in column 1 of the table commences, or is taken to have commenced, in accordance with column 2 of the table. Any other statement in column 2 has effect according to its terms.

3  Authority

This instrument is made under the VET Student Loans Act 2016.

4  Schedule

The VET Student Loans (Courses and Loan Caps) Determination 2016 is amended as set out in the Schedule to this instrument.

5  Transitional arrangements for superseded courses      

For the absence of doubt, if before 1 July 2017:

(a)  the Secretary approved a VET student loan for a student for a course of study listed in item 1 or item 2 of the Schedule to this instrument; and

(b)  the student had not completed the course of study;

the Secretary may continue to pay amounts from that loan under section 19 of the VET Student Loans Act 2016 on or after 1 July 2017, in relation to that course.
