AN ACT to amend the Vermin Act, 1918-1950.

[Assented to 20th December, 1951.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent

Majesty, by and with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council and the Legislative

Assembly of Western Australia, in this present

Parliament assembled, and by the authority of

the same, as follows:-

1. This Act may be cited as the Vermin Act 'Mein title'

Amendment Act, 1951, and shall be read as one with the Vermin Act, 1918-1950 (Act No. 2 of 1919, as reprinted with amendments to and including Act No. 5 of 1943, incorporated pursuant to the pro- visions of the Amendments Incorporation Act, 1938, in The Reprinted Acts of the Parliament of Western Australia, Volume 2, 1943, and further amended by Acts Nos. 49 of 1946 and 61 of 1950), hereinafter referred to as the principal Act.

The principal Act, as amended by this Act, may be cited as the Vermin Act, 1918-1951.	principal Ac

Section forty-six of the principal Act is amended by adding the word "the" before the words, "Protection Board" appearing firstly in line two and secondly in line three.	amended.

Section eighty-seven of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words "or the" where they immediately precede the words "Protection Board" firstly in line nine, secondly in line eleven, thirdly in line twenty-five, fourthly in line twenty-eight, fifthly in line thirty-three and sixthly in line thirty- four. amended.

amended.	5. Section eighty-nine of the principal Act is amended by substituting for the words "Agricultural Bank" in line ten of subsection (5), the words "Rural and Industries Bank of Western Australia".

amended. 6. Section one hundred and three of the prin-

cipal Act is amended by

(a)	substituting for the word "Minister" appearing firstly in line two and secondly in line three of subsection (1) and thirdly in line two of subsection (2), the words "Protection Board";
(b)	adding after the word, "year", in line ten of subsection (1) the words, "until the financial year commencing on the first day of July one thousand nine hundred and fifty-two in respect of which year and each succeeding financial year the rates shall be such amounts as may be so fixed but not exceeding two pence and one penny in the pound respectively instead of one penny and one half-penny in the pound";
(c)	deleting the third and sixth provisos to subsection (1);
(d)	adding at the end of subsection (1) the following proviso:

Provided further that no rates shall be assessed or be deemed to be imposed or payable for the financial year commenc- ing on the first day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifty-one, or for any subsequent financial year in respect of the lands and classes of lands specified in subsection (1) of section ten of the Land and Income Tax Assessment Act, 1907-1948, as exempted from assessment for taxation under that Act;

(e) substituting for the words "Governor by Order in Executive Council" in lines five and six of paragraph (d) of subsection (3), the words "Protection Board by declara- tion"
