AN ACT to amend the Vermin Aet, 1918.

[Assented to 31st January, 1939.]

BE it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty,by and with the advice and consent of the Legis- lative Council and Legislative Assembly of Western Australia, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—

Short title. 1.

This Act may be cited as the Vermin Act Amend- ment Act, 1938, and shall be read as one with the Vermin Act, 1918, as reprinted with amendments in the Appen- dix to the Sessional Volume of the Statutes for the year 1925, hereinafter called the principal Act.

Amendment

of s. 4 of the	2.	Section four of the principal Act is amended-

(i)    by inserting after the definition of "District"

the following definition:

"Eggs" means the eggs of any insects which are vermin within the meaning of this Act and also includes such in- sects while they are in the larval or other immature stage;

(ii)    by deleting the words "or bird" wherever they appear in the definition of "Vermin" and the provisos thereto and substituting the words "bird or insect";

(iii)    by deleting the words "or birds" wherever they appear in the definition and the provisos thereto and substituting the words "birds or insects";

(iv) by inserting after the word "that" in line one of the second proviso to the definition of "Vermin" the words "the operation of this Act in relation to any insect mentioned in the Third Schedule may be restricted by pro- clamation to any district or defined portion of the State, and."

3. Section ninety-two of the principal Act is amended
