AMENDMENT OF VEHICLE STANDARD
2..1.The changes specified in Schedule 1 amend Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 5/05 – Anchorages for Seatbelts) 2006.
SCHEDULE 1
Insert a new clause 5.3. to read
“Side-facing seats must have anchorages for seatbelt assemblies that comply with the requirements for anchorages for seatbelt assemblies for forward-facing seats, except that upper torso anchorages for the seatbelt assemblies must not be provided and the direction of loading must comply with clause 5.3.1.”
Insert a new clause 5.3.1. to read
“Direction of loading for side-facing seats.”
Insert a new clause 5.3.1.1. to read
“The direction of the load to the tractive device attached to the anchorages for seatbelt assemblies must be:”
Insert a new clause 5.3.1.1.1. to read
“in a direction towards the front of the vehicle;”
Insert a new clause 5.3.1.1.2. to read
“in a vertical plane inclined inboard to a vertical longitudinal plane relative to the vehicle by not more than 20°; and”
Insert a new clause 5.3.1.1.3. to read
“at an angle to the horizontal of not less than 5° nor more than 50°.”
Clause 7.1 Amend “The technical requirements adopted ….” to read “……Provided clause 5.3 is met, the technical requirements adopted.....”.
