1.1.Name of Legislative Instrument

1.1.1.This instrument is the Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 42/04 – General Safety Requirements) 2005 Amendment 2.

1.2.Commencement

1.2.1.This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

  1. AMENDMENT OF VEHICLE STANDARD

2.1.The changes specified in Schedule 1 amend Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 42/04 – General Safety Requirements) 2005.

SCHEDULE 1

  1. Clause 7.2.1 amend to read “Actuation of the 'Engine start control' shall not cause the vehicle to move”  

  1. Clause 15 amend to read

“.....conform to SAA, SAE, BS, JIS, DIN, ISO or ECE Standards, or FMVSS 106 Brake Hoses, specified for ......”

  1. Clause 19.3.2.1.1.5 amend to read “Remote opening/closing is allowable through continuous operation of a remote actuation device provided that the remote actuation device must be incapable of opening/closing  the power window from a distance of more than 11 m from the vehicle”

  1. Clause 19.3.2.6.4 amend to read “…..equivalent to the technical requirements of clause 19.3…..”
