1.1.Name of Legislative Instrument

1.1.1.This instrument is the Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 23/02 – Passenger Car Tyres) 2007 Amendment 1.

1.2.Commencement

1.2.1.This instrument commences on the day after it is registered.

  1. AMENDMENT OF VEHICLE STANDARD

2.1.The changes specified in Schedule 1 amend Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule 23/02 – Passenger Car Tyres) 2007.

Delete the entry at 4.1 to 4.5 and insert the following;

4.1For vehicle categories, definitions and meanings used in this standard refer to;

4.1.1Australian Design Rules Third Edition;

4.1.2Part A, Subpart 4, Terms defined in the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989;

4.1.3Part B, Subpart 2, Definitions and Vehicle Categories;

4.2Section 2 of Appendix A.

Insert the following at Clause 5 - Requirements:

5.5Pneumatic tyres shall bear the date of manufacture in the form of a group of four digits, the first two showing the week and the last two the year of manufacture.  The marking shall meet the requirements of Annex 3 – Arrangement of Tyre Markings and may be placed on one side wall only.
