An Act to amend the Vehicle and Traffic (Transitional and Consequential) Act 1999

Be it enacted by His Excellency the Governor of Tasmania, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and House of Assembly, in Parliament assembled, as follows:

1Short titleThis Act may be cited as the Vehicle and Traffic (Transitional and Consequential) Amendment (Public Vehicles Reform) Act 2000 . 2CommencementThis Act commences on the day on which this Act receives the Royal Assent. 3Principal ActIn this Act, the Vehicle and Traffic (Transitional and Consequential) Act 1999 is referred to as the Principal Act. 4Section 13 amended (Certificates authorising driving of public passenger vehicles) Section 13 of the Principal Act is amended by omitting subsection (4) . 5Schedule 1 amended (Consequential amendments)The amendments relating to the Passenger Transport Act 1997 in Schedule 1 to the Principal Act are amended as follows: (a) by omitting from the definition of "registered operator" in item 1(c) "Vehicle and Traffic Act 1999" and substituting "Traffic Act 1925"; (b) by omitting from item 2 "Taxi Industry Act 1995" (twice occurring) and substituting "Taxi and Luxury Hire Car Industries Act 1995"; (c) by omitting item 6.
